$13,000 Fengyun Championship starting on Monday

16 teams were chosen from China, Southeast Asia and Korea to compete in the first Fengyun Championship. Speed is also invited to the tournament, but it is reported that they may not be able to participate.

Aside from the usual Chinese teams, foreign teams are also invited to the single-elimination, six-day tournament. Titan had a respectable performance in the group stages of G-League 2013, while First Departure is establishing themselves as one of the finest from the SEA region. Nexon Sponsorship League Season 1 winner Startale and Season 2 front runner MVP.Phoenix are also among the participating teams.

MLG Columbus winner Speed Gaming was also invited, but it was reported on 2p.com that they may not be able to participate in the tournament. If that happens, there would either be a replacement team for them, or their first round opponent Subvert will get a default win.

There is a match scheduled daily from the 23rd-28th of December. Three of the five non-Chinese teams (Startale, Titan and First Departure) are also enlisted in the Asian Cyber Games this coming 27th-29th of December, so there may be some scheduling conflicts if they proceed further into the tournament.

The game will be cast in at least four different languages. The English stream will be done by BeyondTheSummit and DotaTalk on separate streams, the Korean will be done by MMUSETV, and the Russian by Starladder TV. 175kh_QB will be handling the Chinese stream.

The champion of the tournament will win 60,000 RMB ($9,800~). Meanwhile, the runner-up and the third placer will receiver 15,000 RMB ($2470~) and 5,000 RMB ($820~)respectively.

Fengyun Championship is brought to you courtesy of Shanghai Keahorl Information Technology. The company aims to promote the Chinese Esports scene and states that they will host bigger tournaments in the future.
