D2L pre-playoffs will kick off today with Fnatic first taking on VP for the western division and DK versus Tongfu for the east.. The winner of the pre-playoffs will earn themselves a spot in the playoffs of the tournament, held in Las Vegas next year.
In less than 6 hours from the time of publish, Fnatic will be taking on VP in a best-of-three fashion to kick-off the pre-playoffs season of the Dota 2 League (D2L).
The pre-playoffs will employ a bubble race format in which the fifth and fourth placers of the group stage, will go against one another to determine who goes on to face the third placer. The same can be said for the winner of the fore-mentioned match as the two teams fight their way to face the second placer and eventually, the winner of that will qualify for D2L playoffs in Las Vegas early next year.
The eastern division of D2L is also set to go live tomorrow with DK versus Tongfu at 02:00 CET.
The English broadcast of the tournament will be provided by Aaron 'Ayesee' Chambers and Ben 'Merlini' Wu on D2L's Twitch channel.
