$30,000 up for grabs on Asian Cyber Games

The Asian Cyber Games Dota 2 Tournament, also known as The Asia, will be held this coming 27-29th of December on Downtown East, Singapore. Nine teams will be competing for the prize pool of $30,000, which is equal to that of last year's.

The participating teams will be the winners of various national qualifiers. Unlike last year, there will be no Chinese(LGD) or Australian (Inv-N9) teams joining the tournament. However, Korea will be making its entry as they parade the winner of the first season of the Nexon Sponsorship League. The nine total teams for this year is another odd number, the same as last year which saw eleven competing teams.

Most of the teams participating this year won't really be new to the competition, as all the teams aside from Startale and First Departure have at least one player on their roster who has participated in The Asia 2012.

This three-day tournament will be held at D'Marquee, Downtown East, Singapore. The Champion will win $15,000, while the second and third placers will win $9,000 and $6,000 respectively.

Toby 'Tobi Wan' Dawson will be casting the event live, and David 'GoDz' Parker may also come over to join as the co-caster. GosuGamers will also be at the venue to provide live coverage, which will include photos, travel blogs and interviews.

The Asia 2012 was held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. There were a total of eleven teams then, as the host coutry had two representatives. However, both of them fell short as MUFC and Orange only finished second and third respectively. China's LGD gaming won that tournament and took home the $15,000 top purse.
