Mineski takes PGF crown in straight games

After a two-week hiatus, the finals of the Pinoy Gaming Festival Dota 2 tournament was completed. The best-of-three finals was between AMD.Mineski and GNE.Dreamz.

Dreamz entered as the favorites based from their recent performance, which includes the MSI Beat It! Grand Finals and the earlier rounds of the Pinoy Gaming Festival. However, it was Mineski who grabbed the first game behind impressive teamplay. The game was tipped on Dreamz side to start the game as they took the first blood, but Mineski soon took over and prevented their opponent to execute their signature pushing strategy.

The second game was very well contested, and Dreamz was on a better start on this game. However, they again failed to push uphill and Mineski was able to catch up on the farm. After a losing skirmish on the bottom lane for Dreamz, Mineski took advantage and grabbed the top and bottom barracks. It took them a bit more time, but they patiently moved through middle lane to claim one last teamfight and then the win.

With the victory, Mineski has also become Philippines representative for The Asia, which is set to happen this coming December on Singapore. They were also able to snag PHP 35,000 (812~ USD), while Dreamz received PHP 20,000 (464~ USD). Arcanys can be remembered for taking third place after defeating Execration in the bronze-medal match, where the former earned PHP 10,000 (232~ USD).

The finals was held as the kickstarter for the $10,000 GMPGL SEA Grand Finals.  Both teams are also participating on the two-day tournament, which is being held this c 9-10 November on SM North Edsa's Skydome, Quezon City, Philippines.
