Fragbite Masters participants announced

 

The complete list of teams participating in the Fragbite Masters Dota 2 tournament is already determined, and the group stage will start this 21st of October. The distribution of the teams has yet to be announced.

The tournament will be contested by 32 teams - 18 teams are directly invited and 14 have advanced through the qualifiers. The teams will be competing in the tournament spanning from October to December to grab a slice of the massive ~$31,000 prize pool.

The teams will be divided into groups of four until the third round, and each group will play a best-of-one, double-elimination tournament. The top two teams per group will advance into the next round, and then the process will be repeated until the top four teams are determined. From there, the tournament will shift into a best-of-three, single-elimination tournament.

As of this moment, the distribution of the teams into their groups has not been disclosed.
 

Groupstage

Groupstage #1 - 21st October
Groupstage #2 - 28th October

Playoffs (Groupstage #3) - 10th November
Finals (Single-Elims) - 11th November


Dota 2 is one of three games, together with CS:GO and SCII, to be featured on the Fragbite Masters. Its ~$31,000 prize pool is the second largest confirmed prize pool to date for an online tournament, second only to the Alienware Cup which had $60,000 in prize money.
 

Prize distribution:

1. 100 000 SEK (~$15 300)
2. 50 000 SEK (~$7 700)
3. 20 000 SEK (~$3 100)
4. 8 000 SEK (~$1 200)
5-8. 5 500 SEK (~$850)


The Dreamhack Studio will be the official broadcaster of the tournament. It will be available on DotaTV, and in-game tickets can be purchased at the Dota 2 store.
