The online qualifer for two open spots in the ESP Dota 2 Cup will commence on the 27th of September. The main event, featuring 6 invited teams and two qualified teams will start on the 3rd of October.
Electronic Sports Prime had announced a new tournament earlier today featuring Dignitas, Evil Geniuses, Rattlesnake.int, Team Liquid, Team Fnatic and Team Menace as the six invited teams along with two online qualifier spots. The eight teams will duke it out for the prize pool of $2000 where the winner will win $1500 while the second placing team will win $500. BeyondTheSummit will provide all coverage for the tournament.
The qualifiers for the two spots in the tournament will start on the 27th of September and will end on the next day. The signups are available on BinaryBeast and are open for any team around the world as long as they play on the US East/US West server. Only two teams will make it through the qualifiers and participate in the main event along with six invited teams.
The eight teams will play in the main event which will last three days starting on the 3rd of October towards the 5th of October. The games will be in a single elimination grid with a best of three format for the semi finals. The first game of the main event will feature Team Liquid facing off against one of the qualified teams on 22:00 CEST followed by Team Dignitas against Team Fnatic on 23:00 CEST.
