After he was traded to Invictus Gaming last week, SGamer caught up with Zhi Hao 'Hao' Chen for an interview about his new team and his reason for picking iG over all the other clubs.
Thank you for accepting the interview. TongFu was the best team in China. Why did you decide to leave?
I can't really say we are the best team in China. Achieving good results is due to our synergy as a team, not because of one special guy carrying your team to victory. Teamwork and trust are the most important aspect of winning. As for why I have decided to leave TongFu, maybe I will write about it in my memoirs after I retire.
As one of the most sought after players in the transfer market, a lot of clubs must have approached you. Why did you choose iG?
Indeed, many teams did talk to me but iG has always been my dream club. I also feel that I am worth of a world championship caliber team and besides, my good friends are also in iG. Brothers fighting alongside each other is something that I cannot resist.
Why do you add TF at the end of your in-game ID?
Well, I have stayed in TongFu for one and a half year now and they have always treated us well. When PanDa disbanded a few years ago, TongFu sheltered us and now that I have left TongFu, I still miss them. After talking to iG's management, they allowed me to put TF behind my nickname.
Is banana's transfer your suggestion?
It's a group decision. iG is very harmonious, all the decisions made are through discussions.
You guys should have started training now. How are the results?
We just started training today. Our training before this was okay, quite satisfactory.
What is your goal?
The goal right now is definitely champions because our team composition right now is definitely the ideal composition. Therefore, I am very confident in winning, create our own dynasty.
Prior to this, you stated on Weibo that you are very sad that you will not be teaming up with Mu. Tell us more about Mu as a player
Mu is a very spiritual and talented player. His ability to play the mid lane is the best anywhere. Though I think if he can be less anxious when the team is at an disadvantage, I believe Mu can shine in all the big competitions.
What does the official release of Dota 2 means to professional gamers?
We will be facing more pressure. The official release means there will be an increase in players which is a very important aspect for the development of the game in China.
