GEST August's quarterfinals starting tonight

The group stage of GEST August is finished, and we are now down to the final eight teams. These teams will be facing off on a single-elimination best-of-three playoff grid, aside from the best-of-five Finals. The quarterfinals will start today

The four-day group stages has finally concluded, where 16 teams were distributed over four groups. These groups then followed an individual double-elimination tournament, with the top two teams per group advancing into the playoffs.

With GEST regulars in NeoES.Orange, MiTH.Trust and Inv.MUFC skipping out this month, August's main event was a wide-open race. As last month, entering the playoffs are four Filipino teams spearheaded by last month's champion, AMD.Mineski. Joining them in the playoffs are the GMPGL topnotchers from Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore - 1st.VN, Lowyat.net, Bambang FC and Impervious respectively.

Playoffs

The playoff stages will be held within the next three days, with one round being played per day. Today, the quarterfinals will be in motion and all four matches are scheduled for tonight. The first pair of matches will start at 19:00 SGT (12:00 CET)

The Champion of this tournament will receive $1,000, and the runner-up will get $500.

The DotaTV ticket for this GEST is already available, and purchasing the ticket will allow viewers to spectate this month's and next months's GEST tournament via the DotaTV client. The English cast will be handled by BeyondTheSummit and Basskip.
