EMS loses yet another team, this time around it's the French/Russian mix of Quantic Gaming withdrawing from the tournament due to Socksha and Silent not being able to participate.
Sadly for ESL Major Series One, Quantic Gaming have cancelled their participation. The reason is Socksha still not being able to play, combined with the fact that Silent will not be granted a visa for the trip. According to joinDota, the team will be replaced by the Swedish squad Keita-Gaming, participating under the name 'dargonblaydes'.
Statement by Sébastien '7ckngMad' Debs, Quantic Gaming
We are sorry to announce that Quantic Gaming will not be attending EMS Summer 2013. Unfortunately, Sockshka is still unable to compete, and Silent's visa process for the United States makes it impossible for him to come to Poland. Attending with two stand-ins is not an option, as we already hesitated a lot for StarLadder.
The tournament have not had the best of luck with first Rox.Kis dropping out, then Alliance and now Quantic. There was also the incident with Kaipi winning the American qualifiers but then getting disqualified due to breaking the player rule. Evil Geniuses, the runner-up of the qualifier, took its spot in the final competition. The offline playoffs will nevertheless take place this weekend, with Fnatic and mousesports being the favourites. Katowice, Poland is the place for the event and the prize pool is as high as $35,000 USD.
The official English stream of the tournament will be performed by Toby 'TobiWan' Dawson of joinDOTA alongside a variety of casters providing streams in different languages.
