DotA 2 Super League action resumes tomorrow as TongFu, NeoES.Orange, LGD.cn, and DK battle it out for a chance to compete in the Grand Final.
The first semifinal matchup will feature two Chinese DotA 2 powerhouses LGD.cn and DK. While LGD had to battle through the playoffs to reach the semifinal, DK comfortably secured their spot by going undefeated (4-0) during the May groupstage. Both teams have been in good form recently, as they combined for just three losses in their previous 20 official matches. As for head-to-head, their most recent encounter was a 1-1 tie in the groupstage of Alienware Cup. Evenly matched in virtually every aspect, this matchup has all the making of a classic down-to-the-wire series. The game will be played Thursday, June 27th, at 11:00 CEST.
After having defeated LGD.int 2-1 in the previous round's loser bracket final, Orange will form an intriguing matchup with TongFu in the other semifinal. Winner of seven of their last ten official matches, TongFu has been on an upswing of late, with impressive performances against top-tiered opponents in the Alienware Cup and the group stage of DSL. Orange, on the other hand, has been rather up-and-down. The Malaysian squad, however, have managed to take down TongFu in both of their previous meetings, including a convincing 2-0 victory in the Alienware Cup groupstage yesterday. While TongFu has been playing exceptionally well of late, Orange clearly has history on their side. Yet another intruguing matchup is on the cards at 11:00 CEST June 28th.
Winners of the semifinals will advance to the Grand Finals, which is scheduled next Sunday, July 7th. Meanwhile, the losers will play a third-placer matchup on June 29th. All games, including the semifinals, will be played in a best-of-5 format.
