Five teams out of the 27 signed up remain in the second qualifying cup of EMS One America. Typical Mistakes and TryHard Dota found themselves in yet another deep run in the qualifying cup but they will have to go through Kaipi to top the table this time.
While the vast majority were occupied with The International 3 qualifiers and Dota 2 Super League yesterday, the second qualifying cup of EMS One America kicked off under the radar.
Out of the 27 teams who signed up for the tournament, only five teams remain including [team]Typical Mistakes[/team] and [team]TryHard Dota[/team], the top two placers of the last qualifying cup, and Kaipi. Both the North American teams are once again in for a deep run in the qualifier and they will guarantee themselves a spot in the groupstage assuming both of them make it to the grand finals.
The winner of the second cup will receive $500 and also 100 points which will be redeemed at the end of the qualifying stages to determine who makes the cut for the groupstage. The top eight point holders will move onto the groupstage.
Unfortunately for EMS One, top tier North American teams are once again busy with Curse Dota 2 Invitational and other commitments to participate in the tournament.
The last quarter-final game is set to begin at 23:00 CEST tonight before the tournament proceed on with the semi-finals. All the games will be played in a best-of-one format apart from the grand final which will be played in best-of-three.
