Format and groups for G-1 phase three released



G-1 League organizers have given us the format of the third phase of G-1 Asia. It will follow a Bo3 round-robin group stage format, with the top team from each group heading directly into the LAN finals.

The top four finishers from last year's G-1 Championship League and the top four teams of the G-1 Asia qualifier's Phase two will be pitted against each other, and the eight teams are divided into two groups.

Each team will face every other team on his group on a Best-of-three format. The top team from each group will proceed directly into the LAN finals to be held later this year.

28th March - iG vs Chain.Stack
29th March - RSnake vs Orange
30th March - Zenith vs DK
31st March - LGD.int vs RSnake
1st April - Chain.Stack vs Zenith
2nd April - LGD.cn vs Orange
3rd April - iG vs DK
4th April - Orange vs LGD.int
5th April - DK vs Chain.Stack
6th April - RSnake vs LGD.cn
7th April - Zenith vs iG
9th April - 2nd placer Group A vs 2nd placer Group B. Winner qualifies to LAN
10th April - 3rd placer Group A vs 3rd placer Group B
11th April - Loser of 9th April vs Winner of 10th April,Winner qualifies to LAN finals


Fifteen play days for the Phase 3 of the qualifiers are divided into three periods. The first two periods consists of twelve days, where all the group stage matches will be played. Each date on the first two periods is set to only have one game, all scheduled at 1930 GMT+8 (1230 CET).

As said earlier, the top team from each each group will proceed directly into the LAN finals. The second and third ranked team on each group will then compete against each other on the last play period to determine the final two teams heading into the LAN finals.

The second placer from group A will play the second placer from Group B to determine who will go through to the offline playoffs. The same goes for the team who comes third.

The third placer from Group A will also play the third placer from Group B in a best-of-three format. The winner of this will have to play the loser of second placers battle. The winner will proceed to the offline event.
