BaseTradeTV is jumping into the Overwatch competitive scene with the first ever Control-exclusive tournament: OnlyWatch, including a $510+ prize pool!
On Thursday 7th April, 10:00 PDT (19:00 CEST), BaseTradeTV will kick of their first Overwatch tournament, teasingly named OnlyWatch. Fans will be able to follow the tournament on the BaseTradeTV twitch channel and enjoy the casting of Rifkin, ZombieGrub and Drennoc.
Focusing completely on the Control mode, teams will be able to pick between Nepal, Lijiang Tower and Ilios to fight for glory. The tournament will be single elimination and feature Bo3 rounds up until the grand finals, which will be Bo5. While the event is open for players world-wide, it will be hosted on the European servers and players are expected to sign up using their EU Battlenet IDs. Along with the usual set up of six players, teams can also register one substitute player.
The base prize pool of $510 will be divided across the top four teams and can be increased through Matcherino donations. On top of that, the winning team will also go home with 6 Corsair Headsets and Blizzard Overwatch hats.
We are excited to see if the current top teams will prove to be the best in this Control-only format, or if other teams will come with the KotH specialization. Viewers should at least expect a lot more kills per minute!
