The day we have all waited for is finally here! Overwatch has announced that its release date for PC, Xbox One and PS4 is May 24th 2016. The official statement can be found here.
Overwatch also released another developer update on their Youtube channel explaining the official release date along with the Open Beta announcement. Open Beta will be out from May 5-9 and this is something that everyone has access to. They also announced that they have something special in store for all those that have been so excited about Overwatch that you have already preordered the game, they will allow you and a friend to exclusively play in an early access from May 3-4. On those two days it will just be fellow pre-purchasers and their friends playing Overwatch!
Some important things to note for the Open Beta:

All content will be live so players will have access to all 21 heroes as well as every map.

Your progression progress WILL NOT carry over to the games launch.

You have until April 29th to pre-order in order to receive the early access
