Announcing GosuCup SSD Special

>> Register for GosuCup SSD Special NA <<

Starting next Saturday, our beloved GosuCup will take a small trip to NA, Europe and SEA for three special events. Each week, the winner of the GosuCup Special will take home one 120GB SSD hard drive.

The prize is courtesy of our friends from Kingston HyperX who not only helped up improve our servers but left some nifty hardware behind. Because we all love Hearthstone and want to give back to our dedicated community, three Kingston HyperX 120GB 3K SSDs will be given away to the three winners of GosuCup SSD Special.

Unlike our regular GosuCup who stay on the European server, the GosuCup SSD Special will visit each different regions every week. First, we'll make a stop in North America, hosting a tournament on Saturday, May 17th, at 14:00 EST. The tournament format remains the same as regular GosuCups: Bo3 single elimination with Bo5 semis and grand final, no class or card restrictions, sideboarding allowed but winner must keep his or her class.

Refer to the bullet points bellow for more info:

  • Sunday, May 17th, 2014
  • Played on the NA server
  • Cup start time: 14:00 EST
  • Registrations open: Now!
  • Registrations close: 17 May 2014, 14:00 EST
  • Check in period: 12:00 EST - 14:00 EST

Format:

  • Open to anybody with GosuGamers account. Player limit at 256
  • Single elimination
  • Best-of-3 matches till semi finals
  • Best-of-5 matches for semi finals, grand finals and 3rd/4th place

Prizes:

  • 1 Kingston 120GB SSD for the winner

Rules and requirements:

  • Games are played in the EU region
  • Players must provide their accurate Battletags for the Europe server (example: Nydra#0000)
  • After finishing a match the losing participant has to report his defeat. Winners can also report their victory, but this will trigger a confirmation process, which takes additional time. A detailed how-to guide is provided here
  • Players are required to upload a screenshot of their victory or the match cannot be resulted
  • Players can play any class
    • Winner must keep his class, though unlimited sideboarding is allowed
    • Loser can choose to keep or swap his class or deck
  • The top four finishers are required to submit their decks through the GosuGamers deckbuilder and alert GosuCup admins
    • The remaining players are encouraged to do so too. Every GosuCup deck that's submitted will be featured in a summary article after the event is completed
  • Streaming is not obligatory. However, if you do stream your games, please contact GosuCup admins and we'll be happy to upload the VODs to our database
  • In case of disconnect, players must use the built-in reconnect feature and continue the match. In case that's not possible (e.g. power shortage or internet issues), a disconnect is treated as a game loss (not series-loss)
    • ?Because the disconnect leads to a game-loss only (not series-loss), the disconnected player can return to the match when he re-connects if the match is not already over score-wise
    • Players have until fifteen minutes before the end of the round to re-connect
      • ?Rounds officially start every full hour (14:00 EST, 15:00 EST, etc)
  • ??In case of game bugs, players need to present all relevant screenshots to an admin and wait for his ruling.
  • In case of a draw (e.g. both players die to a [card]Hellfire[/card] or [card]Eye for an eye[/card]) the game is remade

Walkover rules:

  • If your opponent doesn't show 15 minutes after round's start, you're required to message a GosuCup admin
  • Officially, rounds start at every full hour (14:00 EST, 15:00 EST, etc), though you're free to play out your match once you learn your opponent.
  • This means walkovers are due after:
    • Round 1: 14:15 EST
    • Round 2: 15:15 EST
    • Round 3: 16:15 EST
    • Et cetera...
  • ?This allows bracket and match flexibility. You can play your match automatically but you're not obligated to do so and can take a break if you want: Walkovers and def-losses are only given after the listed hours for every round.

Shipping

  • Shipping will be done by GosuGamers
  • All relevant import taxes or customs fees are to be paid by the recipient
