Face 2 Face: Sarens vs. Pomidor

Summer is ending and it seems there is plenty of action going on in Broodwar community Fragbet league, Sandlot is starting, WCG qualifiers are going in most of the countries. And just to relieve some pressure after serious tournaments and add some fun we decided to organize yet another F2F showmatch this time featuring one of the strongest terrans around Mgz)Sarens against new-to-the-scene but already with a name Pomi[S2].

This match will happen tommorow, Sunday 16.00CET. The players will have to play 5 games on the following maps. Rush-HourIII, R-point, Ride of Valkyries and then Bifrost as Sarens choice and Luna as the choice of Pomi. Hope to see nice games there and i like that Sarens took Bifrost as his choice.

You saw him doing well in different show matches, then you saw him winning top European gamers and even whole clans on Fragbet League and now it is time to present you a new F2F featuring Pomidor[S2]. He is a top Russian protoss who is making progress really fast. To get to know him better read the following interview with Pomi[S2] i took yesterday.

Intro Hi, Pomi, introduce yourself please to the gg.net visitors - Hi-hi, name Segey, 20 years old, live in Pskov, Russia, play bw for 3 years, protoss user. The most notable victory, probably against Androide or 3-0 Draco on PGT. Fragbet So, Pomi, gamers in Europe noticed your good performance on the Gosugamers Fragbet League. What do you personally think about this league, its unique system, which allows one gamer to win a whole team? - I like the Fragbet, and enjoy playing it, especially considering lack of big online tourneys in Russia. I do enjoy the opportunity for one gamer to make an all-team kill. Do you remember any match on Fragbet to be really hard for you, especially taking into account its BO1 nature? - Nah, I don't even remember who I played, all the matches were equally not hard. The only thing that I lost to Strelok on the game vs AFM, but I think that Strelok was a bit lucky there, so I don't consider this match to be hard too. Predictions for top3 in Fragbet League? - I think S2 will manage to be in the top3, the rest is really not important for me. WCG Ok, moving on to WCG RP. What do you think of you performance on this year WCG Russia, were you aiming for the top spot? - Yeah, I was aiming to be in the top, but it didn't work out. At least it was not only my fault in that, I didn't lose myself. Can you explain this a little bit further, why you lost then? - 2 main reasons ?one drinking too much beer ;) and the second that I gave the win to Bruce, as he helped me a lot with getting to the final. I actually won him, but then we decided to flip a coin and Bruce won by coin flip and moved further in the brackets. Interesting info ;). Knowing the Korean representatives in the Grand Final this year, what you expect foreigners to get there, any foreigners in top3? - I believe Russian representatives will win the rest on non-koreans and I hope that Koreans too. So it should be a Russian final Ex vs Androide. I will support our representatives in any way ;) Face 2 Face You are playing this F2F against Sarens, do you know him, and what are your predictions for outcome of the match? - No, I don't know him, never played him and don't know his skill level. I can't predict the score, but I believe I will win. Your thoughts on the map pool for the match? - I like these maps, i know how to play on all of them and i am playing much better on these maps than on WCG maps ^^ Thank you, Pomi for your time, see you in action soon ;) - Ok, thnx ^^

On the other hand we have the really strong terran user Mgz)Sarens. Who impressed me personally when i saw the replays of his games vs Draco on Eurocup. Even though the famous protoss player won the series 2-1 the games the superb nevertheless. Let's wait and see if he gets his revenge over protoss race.
