History of Showmatchs

Showmatchs have always been a great source of good games by great players, always playing for the love of the game, for the honour, or sometimes for a throne. Here is a little reminder of three of the greatest showmatchs, which brought to the community the some of most beautiful games.

First of all, let me remind you of the oldest, and maybe the greatest of all the exhibitions, the TeamLiquid.net Liquibition.
Imagined by the future progamer Rekrul back in 2002, the Liquibition brote to the community some really exciting games, especially thanks to the French progamer ElkY who played the 5 first ones.

The next Liquibition will take place on the 15th of April, 22:00 CET, BlackJack and FrozenArbiter will battle it out in a bo7. Don't forget to bet on the match, and also to download 'Afreeca' if you want to see the match live. Links are below.


Another Showmatch series that brought many nice battles is the Face 2 Face, inspired from the Liquibition and the KOTH.
Created by the Spanish Ozmita, and then run by he and I, many great players have battled it out in more than 60 showmatchs composed of 5 games. Here is an extract of the most beautiful F2F played.
