Our Chicago file server, the "backbone", has been down for over a week. Late Friday, GosuGamers got ourselves hold of a terrible news which will take a long time to repair.
As most have noticed by now, replays, images, public files and crew files are unavailable on GosuGamers. The week has been hectical in our attemps to get the materials back up. FDCServers, backbone hosts, said they had suspended the server since they had received no payments for last month. As we e-mailed them and kindly reminded them we were on a advertisement basis they replied that they saw no "no FDC banners what so ever". We replied on Monday, informing how the banners had been there for over a month in the left menu.
Their immediate reply was a clarification that they would reconnect the server and have everything set up again - right away.
As days passed, the reply to my request for status update was came late Friday: the whole backbone was deleted and no recovery nor backups from their side was available. "Onlything I can offer you at this time is to setup a new one".
Rebuilding - replay section just got up
Fortunately, we have backups of estimated 75% of the replay section, most images and parts of the crew files. However, as the backbone consisted of up to 10 GB, it was a hard job backing up each and every file. We are rebuilding and changing paths, moving everything to our main server in Stockholm as we speak. The replay section has just been re-enabled and works for uploading, however the most recent replays are lost (~25%).
Most have been uploaded, though we are still searching for the correct backups and we will be able to restore much of the data that was deleted, though the work with changing paths for everything from the backbone to their new path will take some additional time.
Thereafter we will reupload all the images and get them correctly sorted. Lastly, we will see what we can do about all replay packages and files in the public files section.
We will update you on the progress and we hope that you will have patience with us during the last parts of the rebuild, in order to continue bringing you a site filled with fresh and updated content varied with a big archive.

Note: We have terminated all cooperation with FDCServers and will not establish a new one. Our main server ("frontbone", "the brain", "command center", "Stockholm server") hosted by X-Term Networks in Stockholm is still working as expected and is able to take the extra load of the files previously hosted on the backbone. We are very happy with our cooperation with X-Term and wish you not to mix them up with FDCServers.
