China is perhaps the most mysterious broodwar country in the world. With most of its players competing on private servers instead of battle.net, the Chinese community remains relatively unknown to the rest of us. What is known, however, is that the country produces some excellent players, like the ones seen here.
Ehome.Hk has been on a high tier for years, and recently competed in the acclaimed CKCG event between China and South Korea. His opponent would be SH_Phoenix66, also known as [S.Top]Phoenix, who finished second in WCG China 2005, qualifying himself for Singapore in the process.Hk's nexus warps in at the 12 o clock position of
Paranoid Android, with 66 taking the remaining 1 o clock base. Instead of a standard pvt opening, hk decides to set the pace early. He puts two "manner pylons" in 66's mineral line, and then rushes with zealots. 66 is able to hold this attempt off, and the inevitable macro stage of the game begins.
The map is split in half as expected, and both players assemble their forces. 66 plays relatively standard, going for tanks and vultures with upgrades. Hk decides to take advantage of the lack of pressure from 66 and go for carriers. Eventually, the entire map is exhausted, with the exception of the remote expansion at the bottom left. This would be the location of no less than 15 minutes of constant action, as both players try to claim it for themselves. Arbiters are enlisted into hk's army, while 66 tries to take out the mechanical carriers using lockdown. A long, epic battle ensues.
Simply a fantastic game, with both players proving throughout that they are world class.
