In the past, some of the top players from around the world have chosen to play for lesser known teams. This is a major problem that occurs in most games and is tough to prevent.
A few days ago a WPL match was played between the Keepers of Destruction (KoD) and United 5 (u5). One of the matches that took place was between
DiGler of KoD and u5.NilknafLP. The unknown player from KoD was easily able to defeat one of the top human players from the United States in two matches. u5.Newbiee, was shocked to see one of his best players beaten so easily and chose to investigate.
After some careful examination of replays they discovered that DiGler was none other than 
fnatic.Caravaggio (pic). Both players were said to have similar hotkeys, apm, and his IP was determined to be from Russia.Fnatic Releases Caravaggio
After this was found out by the managment of Fnatic and admitted to by
Caravaggio he was let go by the team. The leader of Fnatic gives his opinions on this matter:- "I feel really sorry to let Igor go, I have been in one team with him for about 2 years now and it really hurts to have to walk on seperate ways from now on. The way that our partnership ended was not the best, but on the other hand, Caravaggio admitted his guilt and accepted the punishment. I wish him the best of luck for the future, both in gaming and in his real life." Said Frederic 'triMble' Steinfeld, Team Manager for the Fnatic Warcraft 3 Team."
KoD's Penalty
The North American based team was very helpful in assisting the admins and finding out who this player really was. Here's what
KoD-SkylzKazi had to say:- "I hear by apologize for the actions taken against the community, by myself and the player known as DigIer. In a nutshell, I was fooled by his talents and took him into our team in an all-too-trusting manner. I realize this was an error on my part and I hope for forgiveness from the community at large..."
As a punishment for this KoD will be forced to forfeit the match and receive two penalty points.
