pretty good, actually. Mass denies to mess with equilibrium and can stop pushes with eidolons and nova spam. The bad thing is, that you don't really want that much farm on enigma and lich. You'd mostly b e better off to make the enigma solo and put the lich to the carry's lane to support him.

It is effective to som extent as it can deny opponent's farm. But as cecek said, these heroes can be more useful if they are not laned together. In contrast to lich, enigma is item dependent because it needs the core. You also need levels on enigma if you want to be effective, so a solo lane/jungle is favoured more than a dual lane. As for lich, he can be laned anywhere (can't be a roamer though).

Let's put it like this, every normal deny (hitting creep) gives enemies 50% of the exp, but using Lich and Enigma they gain no exp at all, every minute in the early laning stages two waves of creeps comes. Every minute lich can deny 2 and enigma 1. So it's as if you denied (using the attack command) 6 creeps out of 8. Put in the fact that they can harass pretty well and also deny creeps using their own attack. But ofcourse Outplay/Smartplay > Strat on paper

Even devastating in a teamfight, decent black hole will ensure kill together with enigma as they are drawn closer to eachother making lich ultimate extremely lethal. Much like playing with ds+lich.
If going for this strat go for a lane where they can't pull(perhaps obvious).
Good harass, decent push, good lane-chasepower. This combo would be problematic for a trilane, atleast in theory.

They can deny creeps on a lane which lessens the opponents carries' last hits and gives them low exp and their ulti synergises well.

tried and tested at safe lane. enigma jungles and lich supports carries. really nice outcome. Easy picking for your carry once you get the ulti right.

Unless the opposing team is clever enough and pushes 2 of your towers in 3 minutes :)

Annoying for opponents - constant deny, harassment.

So
Main Pro: Higher deny rate, can starve enemy of exp and gold, great ultimate synergy, can cause instant enemy gg on teamfights.
Main Con: The fact that Enigma is both item and level dependent would mean that if these 2 would be laned together Enigma would not be fully grabbing his needed exp and gold.

Test Solution:
Place them in the strong lane, have Enigma come to the lane to deny and use the Eidolons to farm the 2 nearest creep camps, no pulling though.
Like a star you will shine but then you will fall.

Obviouly very effective in terms of denieing. However, against a tri-lane their tower goes down withing the 2nd and 3rd wave, which isn't exactly what you want. Might work excellent against a solo, but then again it must be an important hero so you benefit of having two highly lvl dependant heros sticking around to piss someone off.
Imo a Lich solo is more then enough to weaken someones farm, but people like to play him dual with a hard carry....
