Hero sight range (1887 reads, 15 replies, 4 months ago)
Why do heroes have different sight range?
Why don't they share the same sight range?

Common hero sight range: 1800/800
But some of them different, Why?

I don't really get the point of having the same attributes for all the heroes.
This actually is a stupid question.
Maybe later someone is going to ask why doesn't all the hero have the same skills? Or even the same appearance?
Well that's the point, to differentiate between heroes and make the game more interesting.
When you play shooting games, does 2 different guns have the same range?
They don't. That is how a game is made interesting to its players, having varieties in it and making it more interesting.
You'll miss me when I'm gone.

I think that the difference in sight are too little to affect the gameplay. The only exceptions to that are Balanar and Luna who have a large increase at night (it does effect gameplay, but not in a bad way).

Yeah Balanar woth Aghanims and Luna have larger sight at night. I'm not sure if traxex have bigger sight than other heroes.

^ Maybe it's because she's an agilitiy hero who has no escape mechanism? Shes really vulneruble to ganks, maybe that's why Icefrog gave here a better vision that the rest.

#8 if that's the rationale then should Sniper have bigger sight range as well? Or is his aoe slow considered an escape mechanism?

#12 - Its probably not the actual rationale. Plus, Traxex's frost arrows are a better slow than Sniper's shrapnel.

So Meepo, Moonrider with Lunar and Enchant win. It's cool having those heroes in your team at night lol
