I've just seen some replays from several games played by Chinese players, such team as DK, IG and more.

In two of five games, Dragon Knight would be picked.

Why DK? I know, for his tanking ability, a good ganking and pushing ability.

But maybe there's some other reasons why DK got picked lately...

I believe because of DK's pushing power which is actually the current meta game's tempo.

What is surprising is that Chinese top Carrys like Zhou and Burning started using Bottle Crow strat. Yet there are still some like Hao and Seaking who prefer Soul Ring.

Yeah, because the reasons you gave surely doesn't constitute a huge picking potential...

Focus him > Can't be killed > get the other team on your back.
Focus the other 4 > deals a shitload of damage > lose teamfight anyway.

str heroes such as dk get stronger a lot quicker and have more early game potential than someone like AM, weaver.

The current metagame are getting faster and faster. And Dk's tempo suits this version as it's tempo is much faster than agi carries. He can start pushing at 6 and bring adv to the team instead of ricing.

can tank well and do decent damage(cause he stays in the fight for so long)

he can even be a radiance carrier for the team cause of his massive HP, HP regen and armor which all radiance carriers need.

i think he(together with panda) became a trend to counter AM.

pushing power with lvl1 ulti
lvl 3 ulti gives free skadi
longest stun in the game aside from techies stasis trap

Why is lycan being picked everytime he is unbanned i know he has a Strong attack,crit,push,fast movement speed,great jungler, ANY OTHER REASONS??? thats the point DK is used cause of the pushing ability and tanking

This is an TL;DR post, but has he exact many reasons why he's great right now.

DK is one of the best counter-pushers.
Ending a push isn't about clearing mass creeps waves, because the enemies will just sit in front of your base and wait for 30secs.
To counter push strats you need to force a teambattle and overpower them by raw power or taking them off-guard.
Letting the enemies initiate the teambattle is too risky because they also want to force clashes, thus, they will have some sort of initiating tool to take you off-guard.

DK's task is to lead the frontline and dive into the enemies.
Yes, you can ignore him if he's not doing too much DPS, but he'll just spam the shit out of his nuke (as it has very low cooldown) and also lock down in one place with Frost Breath and stun a vital hero such as the carry or the mass disabler.
If he's hitting like a mountain and got LVL.3 EDF, his opponents are fucked 'cuz he'll just ROFLPWN them without the fear of dying.

So as you can see, DK is able to charge in without suiciding and the enemies have only two options:
1 - Focus firing him. This requires a lot of effort, and usually is and awful idea because his mates will PWN the opposing team and aid him if he's still alive.
2 - Retreat. This automatically creates an opening for DK's allies to start the clash in advantage.

His downside is that he's highly dependant on level and items.
But he's able to farm exceptionally fast with Fire Breath spam and stacked ancients.

To sum it up, DK is a hot pick now because he can counter pushes by forcing clashes and overpower his enemies along with his allies.


Also, Fire Breath allows him to push and farm extremely fast, provided enough mana, and EDF allows him to farm stacked ancients camps like np.

To sum it up, DK is the perfect carry for now, as he's able to farm and push very fast, break through pushes by charging in the frontline and wreak havoc without getting instagibbed instead like PA.
