Go solo game -> pick Morphilng -> lvl one skill third spell (dont know name (: ) -> change all your agility into str -> try to lasthit = nice practise

i know you can simply pick teachies, but bigger chanse is if you are carry that you will play morph ;)

Lol @ lasthitting beeing most important skill when carrying, have u ever played dota game??

Go mid, need to know to last hit even better than babbysat carry? Go offlane even harder, every cs counts, even support has to perfect last hitting, whenever there's a chance and space for getting any cs u must take it, every cs not taken is wasted. Its crucial for support never to miss taking creeps when pulling etc...

Anyway knowledge of farming all in all is important, but so are other dota skills like map awarnes, your team strategy, anticipating enemy moves, but mostly how do you perform in teamfights as carry, timing and so on.

Best way imo for u is ether highskill pubs or highskill leagues, take carry and play...

As for pros sum1 already answered..

1st part
pick a hero, play only this hero for 1-2 months and do/experiment any posible move/tricks/combo/item/etc you can imagine. record your win/loss record. after knowing your weakness/counterpicks to you, pick that hero when the counterpick are in the opponents' team and win the game.

2nd part
after that pick another hero that counters your first hero.

ask/watch chuan

edit:
yaphets didnt stop picking sf even sf's era was over, might be the reason he retired

The heroes that will help you understand the game better are imo
Anti-Mage - Phantom Lancer - Nerubian Weaver - PoTM - Storm Spirit - Spectre - Earthshaker - Shadow Fiend - Broodmother - Prophet in that particular order.

1-2.Start with playing AM and PL - easy lane (bottom for Sent; top for Scourge); try to take as minimum damage as possible during lane phase; quick vanguard and then a big farming item - (battle furry for AM; Radi for PL)
Try to follow your opponents on minimap. If you get ganked it might not be lethal, since both of those heroes have very high survivability during mid game.

3.Play Nerubian Weaver pretty much the same way, only you could go mid, you should always have courier and need much better last-hit ability.

4.The key to a successful PoTM is find the perfect balance between farming and ganking. You should go solo lane, preferably mid with that hero.Try not to waste all your mana on creeps and stay in fog for as much as possible.

5.Storm Spirit is also a strong solo-mider that needs to be much higher level than his opponents to be effective.Try dodging stuns with ulty e.g Magic Missile

6.Spectre should also be played on the easy lane, but its much harder for him to survive well organized gank. You should ALWAYS watch minimap and use your ulty to tp where your team needs you. If it doesn't work too well in the first games, don't give up. Try stealing kills when gank occurs in mid.

7.Try playing roaming earthshaker from lvl 1. This is the time when you should start actively watching replays. I highly recommend Puppy's, and Veronica's earthakers.

8.THE MIGHTY SF -It takes approximately 10 games to master razes and last hit with that hero. Properly positioning in teamfights, however might take months. Go watch YaphetS replays and videos, or dendi's.

9.He requires every single element of this game- micro, map-awareness, perfect last-hitting, aggression (yeah, that's really important, in the wright moments, of course) and patience. The key to a perfect broodmother is not to draw any attention on yourself-push when opponents seem occupied, hide when they are missing. Your main goal with this hero is to push and not die, permanently staying on one lane.

10.Furion is all about map-awareness. With his insane mobility, one should never waste his potential on farming, although he has great farming skills too. I believe watching Dota2 games will help you better understand the idea of that hero.

If you feel like you're already a good enough player with those heroes or think i can give you some more useful advices, don't hesitate to PM me.
