Help me optimize dota video settings (2188 reads, 7 replies, 5 months ago)
Hi, I have a problem with my DotA video settings. It runs very slow. Like when I am on the menu screen and I am selecting single game,LAN etc, the mouse pointer's movement is very slow. In game, the game is very different. Help me optimize it. I have a Compaq610 laptop. Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) Memory:1024MB Graphic card is Mobile Intel 965 express chipset family and the memory is 251MB. Thank you.

you probably have too many applications running in the background.

Your problem is the Intel Celeron TBH.
It cannot possibly run DotA at a good quality - and also your RAM.
To make sure you optimise your DotA settings, set all video and graphic settings to minimum (you can do this in your options page) and also upgrade your RAM.

like razor said, bad graphic card and too little RAM memory. Changing video settings wont help much. i faced the same problem, and i had all the settings on minimum but it still didnt prevent my old pc from doing this:

You just need a better computer. Probably if you want to play DotA/DotA 2 in the future, you should get at least 3-4GBs of RAM, at least a dual core processor (quad core is recommended), and a graphics card of GT520+.

U can change the Resolution which fits for your GFX card.U can also decrease the Model detail,Animation quality,Texture quality,Particles,Light,Unit shadows,Occlusion,Spell detail from the Video option.

Hope it will work for the game.
