Hi all,

Is there a dotapedia out there? I hear LOL are starting to create a wiki. Gosugamers is nice for news coverage like esfiworld, etc. Playdota is nice to see builds. But dota is still missing a great resource site like liquipedia that does everything from track tournaments to listing strategies.

This is an example of good tournament/updating coverage:
http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2011_MLG_Pro_Circuit/Providence
http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2011_Global_StarCraft_II_League_November/Code_A

Good example of strategy resource etc.

Good example of a great post and community/fan contribution:

The forums on teamliquid.net are also more crisp and easy to interact with. In my humble opinion, teamliquid.net is the best gaming site on the net, and liquipedia is the best gaming resource on the net. If Dota could have forums like TL and a resource like liquipedia, it would explode.

I hope dota-fans with knowledge on web design, programming and wiki, or just gosugamers and playdota staff would be able to create such a resource and change to better forums and interaction.

it would take too much resources to create and a lot of the other wikis are sponsored/semi-sponsored because they are of games that have official backing.

DOTA 1 is a fanmade game essentially which means that there is no definitive corporate backing unlike sc, lol, hon etc

Dota 2 is different obviously since valve is making it

frankly if you look through the various dota related websites you can find any information you are looking for from guides to in depth mechanical discussions so theres basically no need for older players.

Yeah no corporate backing, which means that nobody sponsoring = no funding.
