Roccat.Trust: New Power House (Spoilers) (5963 reads, 35 replies, 1 year ago)
Every year, we see new "dark horse" teams rise to the top of Dota with the potential to win it big. This year, it seems that this "dark horse" is Roccat.Trust/DTrust, or just Trust for short. Although not a "dark horse" in Thailand (it seems that they've been the top team of Thailand for several years now), it is only now that Trust has come to the foreground of international Dota in the ADC tournament, where they have been owning it up.

Trust vs. SB:

http://www.gosugamers.net/dota/replays/36051

Trust vs. Nirvana.my (former Ks.Nirvana):

http://www.gosugamers.net/dota/replays/36777
http://www.gosugamers.net/dota/replays/36793

Trust vs. Mcity:

http://www.gosugamers.net/dota/replays/36613
http://www.gosugamers.net/dota/replays/36618

Trust vs. Nirvana.cn:

http://www.gosugamers.net/dota/replays/36332
http://www.gosugamers.net/dota/replays/36337

With a 4-0 record against SB and Nirvana.my, the Vietnamese and Malaysian power houses, respectively, Trust seems unstoppable in Southeast Asia. They need now only to win the Singaporean and Filipino teams to be undefeated among the Southeast Asians.

Moving away from Southeast Asia, although Trust dropped a game to Mcity (in which they had 200 ping and a missing player), the Australian power house which is also doing very well for themselves this year, Trust managed to tie the series in a dominating second game.

So far, the only team that's stopped Trust's rampage cold is Nirvana.cn, the Chinese power house to which Yaphets and Zhou belong. The first game vs. Nirvana.cn, Trust's Necrolyte disconnected but the team decided to continue the game, ultimately losing. The second game, Trust failed to stop Dgc's Enigma. Still, both of these games were far from one-sided stomps by Nirvana.cn: they had to work for the victory.

In analyzing Trust's play, I found that they have a very unique style with Bat Rider and Morphling being the core heroes. LB's Bat Rider solo has now won Trust two straight games, first against SB and then, again, against Nirvana.my, in which LB embarrassed Nirvana.my's mid-solo SF (believed by most to be Yamateh) with an amazing 19-0 Bat Rider vs. 0-15 SF.

But of course, laning ability and strategy must always be backed up by excellent teamplay in a truly professional team, and in this Trust has not disappointed. In all their games thus far, Trust has demonstrated impeccable coordination, easily some of the best I've seen this year. Given that Dota is all about teamwork, this bodes well for Trust as it shows that they're not winning solely by virtue of some "gimmick" but actually has the mechanics to compete with the best.

How far will Trust go in the ADC? Only time will tell. But if their play so far is any indication, I Trust that they will not disappoint.

I didn't watch the "vs SB" replays, but the second game of "vs Nirvana.cn" seems like really a walk in the park. Mega in 33 mins, 9 towers vs 0 tower, double the kills. They pretty much just stood outside their base 20 mins onwards, chipping down the defense without much pressure. Nv.cn has apparently the upperhand in both initiating and counter-initiate, thanks to enigma and necrolyte with aegis.

Personally, I didn't really recognize the team until they stomped the Nv.my teams awhile ago.
