I think SC micro is harder, but WC3 requires more micro.

WC3 has probably bigger micro metagame, but SC has probably a little more overall challenge because of the multitasking and merciless positioning and such. Both are way more than your average gamer can micro though.

seriously we all know sc takes more skill... ppl are just trying to be respectful to the wc3 players who will get mad and start throwing rubbish at the ppl who point it out

I think both games takes equal amount of skill to master but in different ways.

SC micro is definitely harder, it has an older interface. The fact that you can tab through units selections makes it alot easier to do things in WC3. Also if you want to spell cast and you have a group selected you have to do each individual one where as in WC3 you can spam the spell and only one will do it at a time.

let's all compare chess and rubikcube , this is even more relevant .
or let's start to compare the average dick size of wc3 and sc players .
I think you got my point , no need for further comments.

LOL WC3 PLAYERS SAY "LETS COMPARE DICK SIZE CUZ SC IS OBVIOUSLY HARDER"

Another wc guy says theyre equally hard to master but in different ways. You obviously don't know about sc progaming. Reaching the lvl of korean sc progamers now is WAAAAAAAAAAAAY UNDOUTABLY harder than reaching the lvl of wc3 top players

I'd say the micro is about equal in both games. Though, in WarCraft 3 you have to play very conservatively. Every unit means A LOT and that even means killing off your own units so the enemy doesn't get the kill.

In StarCraft you can lose a lot of units and not play so conservatively. StarCraft does require micro but if you lose the unit you're microing it doesn't put you behind a lot. (There are some exceptions, I know. Please don't list them because I already know and I don't care.)

One has to realize that they are both two different games. WarCraft 3 is a unique RTS with items and hero based strategy while StarCraft is your more traditional RTS.

wow G_G, you got a pretty big mouth on that one,no?

what about this: in wc3 there is "foreigners" that are competing since the very very beginning... and they also play around 8h or more a day. thus the koreans wont have such a huge advantage. but 4 years ago, they had an advantage (im sure u have heard of that... madfrog is a keyword maybe) but they lost it due to others training exactly the same amount and as hard as koreans did / do. And i doubt that it's easy to reach top lvl in wc3... its as hard as starcraft, i am sure of that... i can tell hat meself as i was into wc3 a lot more than prolly most of you guys in there forums... i have played a lot and reached an acceptable level at the ladder, so believe me: it's not easy to advance. You really have to put a big effort in it or u fail.

Oh and g_g. You make the United States look bad. You should have better English than these foreigners and for some reason I can read their posts and comprehend their coherent sentences better than I can read yours. Please stop posting, idiot.

LoC is basically right, but after playing both games for long periods of time, It feels as if the micro in SC is a little harder to master, but thats just my opinion.

@ g_g, I agree. o.O!

Well i think that reaching top lvl in wc3 and sc is equally hard if you dont count the Korean progamers.

I'd have to agree with Rent-A-Hero.

Besides this is just another attempt from a bw player to be able to call bw a whole lot better than wc3 overall. Which isn't going to lead anywhere.

I havent played war3 much but in sc with things like psi storm you can litterally look away for a second and lose your whole army/mining force so i dont think war3 has anything reaction based like that

Whoever said SC is wrong o.o

Offcouse there are more combinations involved and thus making micro pretty hard, but try doing your average 200 apm in w3 you wont succeed, you know why ? There is nothing to macro T_T its like microing for a 10 minute battle and doing 15 macro actions per minute. That's why wc3 micro > bw micro

As Flash_Macro said. In SC ALT Button don`t work and it`s very helpful in combats. When you can view the health of all your units at one you can easy control them pretty good. But in SC where you have sometimes 4-5 groups of troops its very hard. Plus there are no storms in WC3 :D, nor swarm

Wc3 is made for beginners with all the autocast crap. . . . too easy to micro when you dont have to use spells meanwhile!?!?! - Only medics are allowed to have autocast;)

BW > Wc3

Starcraft micro is harder then wc3 because the units die so quickly, in wc3 they take forever to die. for example in sc you have 1 reaver vs 6 lings the reaver can kill all lings in 1 shot unless they spread out and micro and in wc3 you can fight for minutes until 1 hero or unit dies

That like the suggestion about Jaedong's (or anyone else's) APM has nothing to do with micro !!!
Micro can be pulling your units out of a psistorm and it can be casting healing wave on your units ...

Actually you can't really say the fact that micro in one of the games focuses on different purposes and targets does not make it less/more of micro chalenging than the other game
