DOta 6.52e games boring (494 reads, 14 replies)
is it me or are pro games played in 6.52e (and later versions) extremely boring compared to those played in 6.48b?

I mean its just mass farming, and usually at the 25th minute mark, both teams have barely 10 kills each. WTF?

if this kind of borng shit happens in pro games, how much more in games of lesser caliber? Seriously, icefrog has got to do something with this. REPLAYS of MYM, VP and SK are more action-filled (and certainly more exciting) than 6.52e games that focus much on farming. Im not saying that dota is meant for spectators who want more action-packed games, its just that the later versions lessen the compepetive aspect of dota.

52e is lategame lategame lategame so its like farm farm farm base destroyed no kills. -.- you could get some entertainment if a game is like 90min and the last 20min would be entertaining.

52.e doesnt provide more kills and doesnt last longer than any previour versions. The only thing that changed is that the focus is more on team pushing and team ganging with one hero free farming on another lane. 48b was more like ganging in pairs and gettin an higher advantage but there were also l8 gamers that stayed farmin (bb/merc/sf/tb). Nowadays its hard to gang with only 2 heros cuz there is mass aoe, more tp support and pushing 2gether involved. i mean most games last from 40-60min and thats even less than in the past. there are some excetions ofcourse and ban/picking is more worth 2day and kinda decides so much of the game n game play

people really dont care how LONG a game lasts, as long as it is exciting from start to finish, which was the kind of games during the 6.48b era.

In the recent versions however, even support heroes farm for like 45 minutes, and after 1 major clash the games is almost over. Just watched the eswc finals game vs Zenith and KS, and i literally fell asleep, only to wake up and discover that the uber-farmed luna was unstoppabl. BORING!... who wud wanna watch these effin rice-farmin games?

the same emotion(bored) i felt after i watched replays in 6.52e.
we need more action to be entertained not farming and farming then
farming.it's too annoying.
More ganks more excitement more strategy that's what gamers want
like in sc, too short but exciting to watch..!!!

in the 6.48b games it was always the same shit. like..

Lina, Tiny - Never - Sand King,Lesch vs Shaker, Potm - Zeus - Sven, Jakiro .....

Banns: Rexxar,Dazzle,Magnus Bristle,Warlock, NA

there were probably 14 heroes to bann/pick.. in 6.52e there are 24+ and Puck !! the best of all heroes!!

Dagger was the most retarded item of all dota, like a free aegis with 40 sec cd for 2k gold.

Icefrog is just making shit with the balance of lategamer (seriously, wtf is that lycan ?)

well, before late gamers were complete trash (aside from maybe luna cuz she could gank early on and tb cuz he was a strong pusher with no items). now all hero types are about equally strong. while that means less kills, it makes dota more interesting for ppl who actually understand strats and shit. with the amount of slows picked and no dagger it's hard to get away if you fight in a bad position. a team must be more coordinated than befroe when you just had to blink away if caught and keep farming.

Lategamers didnt get insanely more powerful as some think, but rather the dagger nerf reduced the ganking power of most heroes. Heroes like tiny, which were mass gankers in 6.48b, are no longer picked because their mobility is so reduced. The lategamers can survive much more easily now, and so a team with more lategame can farm more and generally be more powerful

What would make the games more interesting was if the creeps had more hp or like 33-50% magic damage reduction, so you could actually push early without one shadowfiend or some other hero with an aoe spell crushing the entire push with just two spells. Do that and remove building invulnerability when tping and the games would be more exciting and all lategame heroes would get a needed nerf.

Nowadays people have only one strategy as you guys have already pointet out; getting one hero to farm while the others gang. If early pushes were a possibility more strats would form. You could have an early pushing team with summoner heroes or you could choose heroes that counter pushes with spells - or ganger heroes that could pick out the pushing heroes before they get a proper push going, or even a third kind of team that still focusses on the lategame and trying to gang / avoid getting ganged until their lategame heroes are strong enough to bash the enemy heroes and bases.

yes i agree with u people that the newer versions make way for more strategies, but the issue is whether the new changes make the game less adrenaline-pumping than it did in the good old 6.48b days.

I dont know about you, but even pro games with very high rating make me fall asleep, only to wake up and find an uber-farmed late-gamer owning every1. Seems boring to me.

just watch rush3d vs Ks.Int (ASUS 08 final) or SK vs +46 (raigor with refresher).. i think it`s rilly interesting match.. not boring at all... exciting,.

in 48b, its ok that ganking all the game, but rilly boring to see the hero.. like lina,lesh,SK,skele,Sven,tiny,.huh!!!.. boring...



just opinion,sry for bad english^^
