orb effect does not stack???REALLY?? (843 reads, 12 replies)
there is an information in an item that orb effect does not stack
but in reality, when i'm playing the game the items are stack
example : when i buy manta style and satanic, one of them does not work
so, what is that information used for?or maybe what does it exactly mean?
thank you

I'm new to dota and trying to learn. If we say we have two items that got orb effect or whatever, don't really get that stuff, is it only the skill that goes with that item that does not work, or all the stats for the item as well?

just dont get 2 orb items
an item with an orb is not worth its money without the orb

Skadi stacks with any other orb if on a ranged hero.

Lifesteal used to stacks with sange. (your wont get life when sange procs, but that's not a big deal).

#3 :
S&Y worth the money with or without orb 95% of time.
Same for diffusal when used to counter omni/warlock/ect...

Stun overrides all other effects, if I am correct.
Then the 2nd Orb effect to work is lifesteal.

After that, I'm not sure, but this is what I know:

SNY + Skadi stacks (you notice when you're doing Rosh and when it doesn't maim, it has the frost effect). They both take their turn AFTER stun (think Sniper w/ SNY/Skadi... which is stupid but this is theoretical).

Both SNY/Skadi overrides Manta Style/AM's passive (I think, but I rarely play AM).

I feel like I'm missing out some stuff. Oh... Nerubian Weaver's 2x attack is an Orb effect, and overrides all others - so Skadi/CBashers effects don't work on it, I think. But I noticed that lifesteal works for it. The SNY, i think it works for it.

Stun / Basher is not an orb and will work with any other.

ok sorry i just have to reply to this

skadi ranged is not an orb and you get the frost effect on any ranged hero, even with another orb item.

i believe that the case with 2 orb items was (or at least a few versions ago) whatever item that is higher in the inventory list, that orb will take effect. but now i've noticed that lifesteal overrides all other orb items? im not sure about that, someone else can explain that.

and theres a reason why AM and ursa and whatever heroes have their skills as an orb effect, if you get items to override those orbs its just completely stupid. sorry. thats why they created vlads for lifesteal.

and yea i didn't get anything #5 was saying until i realized he thought stun/bash was an orb effect. its not as #6 stated.

and i completly agree with #3. those orb items are expensive, and getting two without the effect of both is idiotic.

i've never really preferred an SY sniper, but thats just my 10 cents on that.

i realized that SY is expensive as hell, and i was talking to a few friends and their viewpoint on it seemed accurate. i think SY is only worth buying on certain heroes. personally, i love the effects of SY. get some life, that ms and as is awesome. but i used to think SY was awesome on almost every hero. and yea it probably is useful for many heroes, but other orb items may be even better.

SY on heroes like sb is a must i think, to maximize the effect of empowering haste. more ms% dmg+ms bonus. bs is a nice hero to have it on too, to maximize chase cababilities, same with ns. what's your guys' 10cents on that?

Sorry, I forgot that STUN wasn't an Orb effect. >.>

But it does take priority over all the other stuff listed. Did they make the Skadi effect non-orb? Or was it always non-orb?? O_O;; Sorry, lack of sleep. I trust you on that it's not an orb-effect.

But life-steal does take place over everything else.

Vlads is the only thing that doesn't interfere with the other stuff and still gives life-steal.

About this - there are orb effects and there are buff placers. Lifesteal (mask of death, mask of madness, helm of dominator, satanic), mana burn (diffusal blade, manta style), chain lightning (maelstorm, mjolnir) and maim (sange, sange and yasha) are orb effects. Corruption (desolator) and slow (eye of skadi) are buff placers. Theoriticly orb effects dont stack and theoriticly buff placers do not stack.
In reality desolator and mana burn NEVER stack with any other buff placer or orb effect. And orbs that do stack are skadi+satanic and skadi+mjolnir.
To sange and yasha lovers - this effect DO NOT stack.

How and where am I wrong, I'm dying to see you point it out. Stun is in fact NOT an orb and no matter what orb effect you use it will take effect. I'm puzzled by what you said because the sentence before this blasphemy clearly made it look as though you agreed with me.
