Black Sabbath, Judas priest, Iron Maiden, maybe a song or two of Metallica (i went to see those retarded fucks live, and was hella disappointed) from the old bands.

Cult of Luna, Boris, Sunn (only certain songs, sorreh), Paradise Lost (first few albums), and also Neurosis and Isis are some weird-sounding fucks. I really love them. Basically - post-new-wave Doom/Sludge/Drone stuff all the time.

That were just really a few bands I like, if you want to, you can add As I lay Dying, All Shall Perish, Bring me the Horizon, Cock and Ball Torture, Winds of Plague and really really more :D

Russian Guys where are you? I just got into a russian Band named Aria (Ария). Wow, its brilliant Heavy Metal with a lot of Iron Maiden sound.
Now my little question. Some time ago I watched a Starcraft movie (I'm not sure but it might be a RaceWar movie) with a great russian song and I'm almost sure now that the song is from that Aria band. Is anyone here familiar with this and knows more?

That's what happens with all bands that change their style so radically, dividing the fanbase in two camps.
I mean, Metallica went from Thrash Metal to Hard Rock pretty much. The new one seems to be leaning back to Metal thou. We'll see.
Another example of those bands is In Flames... :P
