Todak survive a massive series win as SeeYouSoon exit M3

One final elimination series remained for the day as TODAK were hoping to avoid an upset as they took on SeeYouSoon.

After three eliminations today at the M3 World Championships, which included a massive upset as Natus Vincere destroyed RSG SG and the tournament exit of ONIC Esports, TODAK would be hoping that the Cambodian MPL champions, SeeYouSoon, would not be sending them down the exit path. While SYS managed to secure a huge victory over Red Canids yesterday, TODAK were coming off an intense upper bracket series where they showed the world that RRQ Hoshi can be beaten.

Playoffs definitely brought out a whole new side to some of these teams, with SYS playing with extreme aggression, especially after a group stage which saw them unable to pick up a single victory. After a very brief period of Todak finding initial kills, the Cambodian roster took over the entire game, chasing their opponents across the map and finding all the objectives required to hold a solid lead. With Houv on Roger, plus a Phoveus from Felix, SYS were relentless as they pushed TDK into their base and secured a 13-minute game one win.

However, the Swordfish were not about to give up, and game two was when we saw them leap into action – using their early aggression to its fullest extent, as they bashed through the SYS lineup. One of the main factors in game two was the way in which TDK drafted, stealing away the Roger at the final pick, leaving SYS to pick up a Yi Sun-shin, which did not seem to have much of an impact. With the series tied at 1-1, it was down to the final game to determine who would survive the fourth day of playoff action.

Roger was on a 100% win-rate as we moved into game three, with each team having a win with the hero. It was SYS who managed to grab the werewolf in the decisive game, but Todak were the ones with the early aggression. Things almost went completely wrong for TDK as they made a small error which was capitalised on perfectly from SYS. But the experience of the Malaysians came into play, while the Cambodians over-extended at the wrong moment, which ended up in them losing the series.

After a thrilling series, it was TDK who came out on top, while SYS would, unfortunately, be eliminated from the M3 World Championships. For Todak, they will now move forward in the lower bracket and look to take down Natus Vincere in the next round.
