Counter Logic Gaming form academy team

CLG announced the signing of their academy team and introduced the CLG Academy roster.

Counter Logic Gaming are no stranger to academy teams, as the organisation owns a League of Legends academy roster. With their latest announcement, CLG announced the signing of the roster formerly known as Premier Rejects. From now on, Premier Rejects will be playing under the CLG Academy name and will be the second academy team of the organisation in addition to their League of Legends roster.

CLG explained the purpose behind the signing as "to foster and develop rising talent". CLG Academy players will not have a gaming facility of their own but CLG stated that they are willing to invest all necessary resources to help with their development. Moreover, the roster will have a strategic coach, player development coach, and analyst to help them reach their full potential. CLG Academy will be coached by Corey "ruin" Hartog.

Before signing for CLG Academy, Premier Rejects were last seen on ESEA Premier where they finished 5th last season. In addition to their ESEA Premier campaign in the next season of the league, CLG Academy players will be ready to replace injured or under-performing members of the main roster.

Matt "Trinitiii" Nausha, CLG's Esports Director expressed his thoughts as below:

CLG is committed to assisting the growth and development of our players and the new CS:GO Academy team is no exception to that. The players will have opportunities to fill in for the main roster in the event of injuries, illness, or performance concerns. While the team has a lot of work ahead of them, we are confident that this group of players are committed to being the best CS:GO players. I am excited for them to join CLG and look forward to their development.

CLG Academy consist of:

United States Alex "Aproto" Protopapas
Canada Victor "Cardiac" Kwan
United States Tyler "Char" Wallace
Canada Jonathan "djay" Dallal
United States Chase "MCS" Sullivan

United States Corey "ruin" Hartog (coach)
