Decklist spotlight: Ddahyoni’s Purify Priest

TAKE ME TO THE DECK

Yes, you are reading this correctly. Yes, this is a thing now.

[card]humongous razorleaf[/card] and [card]shadow visions[/card] have been mana from heaven for Priest. The class wasn’t expected to do well in the new meta due to a lack of obvious upgrades, but it has all worked out for the better.

The aforementioned two cards have re-enabled an old, gimmick archetype and pushed it to a top tier contender: The [card]divine spirit[/card] / [card]inner fire[/card] combo. The deck is gaining popularity on ladder two and seeing a plant hit you in the face for 16 is now common.

A couple of variations exist for the Inner Fire Priest and today we feature the one played by Song-Hyeon “Ddahyoni” Baek in the Hearthstone Global Games. One of Korea’s strongest players, Ddahyoni aided his team to a 3-1 victory over Greece in the opening day, and his dominant performance against Chris “Logan” Boutakidis’ Quest Mage was what got the Koreans going.

The deck is very fun to play and not too difficult or expensive either. Most of the cards are commons and there are just six epics and no legendaries, though some builds feature [card]lyra the sunshard[/card] for card advantage.

Honestly, if you’ve ever wanted the golden Priest, this is the metagame to do it.
