Singapore takes place of China at E-frag TWC

Singapore have been announced as the replacements for the disqualified Chinese team.

E-frag.net, the organizers of the $100,000 CS:GO World Championship, have announced today that the Chinese team will not be attending the event for the second year in a row.

Last year was much of the same, with the Chinese players not being able to get a visa and being forced to skip the event. The organizers took that into consideration and ruled that the players would not have enough time to get a visa in time for the event, and disqualified them as a result.

They also announced that Singapore will be taking their place despite losing 0-3 to China in the grand finals of the 24-team Asian qualifier. They will travel to Belgrade, Serbia for the event that will be taking place from October 5-9.

It is with great regret that we inform you that the Chinese team will be replaced by Singapore due to visa issues. The Chinese team had over two months to apply and receive their visas in order to be able to attend the World Championship 2016 LAN Finals, held in Belgrade, Serbia. It is due to this that we reluctantly were forced to disqualify them, as we have had a similar situation happen to us the previous year, where three weeks weren't enough to get a visa, which leads us to believe that two weeks won’t be either, E-frag.net explained in their statement.
