Starting on August 13th with open qualifiers in four sub regions; Turkey, North and West Africa plus South and East Africa and Middle East, the first round of regional WESG regional qualifiers ended this weekend with a LAN held at the luxurious Conrad Hotel in Dubai. Eight teams made it to this last stage of African and Middle East qualifiers and from those only three made the cut for the December LAN finals.

The eight teams played each other first in a best of one group stage with the top two from each group advancing into the playoffs. The last three standing teams not only secured themselves a spot into the main event of WESG but also won a share of the $57,000 prize pool for the qualifiers stage.
