Gamescom has started today. While the ESL Atlantic Showdown isn't scheduled to start until Saturday, there are reasons to start caring already.
Gamescom is one of the largest entertainment shows in Europe, and in the world, and it is kicking off today. Historically, Blizzard has always had a strong presence and the official release of Overwatch can only add to that. Fans of Blizzard can expect plenty of new content to be announced during the coming days, as well as several eSports tournaments (like the ESL Atlantic Showdown) that will bring additional entertainment.
Today a shorter preview broadcast is scheduled to happen (in around 1 hour from posting this), and we hope to get at least a concrete sense of what will actually be announced. We already know a new animated short will be shown later on: The Last Bastion.
Will we get Sombra, after all those reddit puzzle trails? Or maybe another map (or even gamemode) to refresh the meta game yet again? No better way than to tune in. Of course, if you aren't able to tune in live then be certain that all broadcastes will be made available as VOD and we will be covering any other significant developments as well.
