While being one of the more well-known players in the Hearthstone scene, G2 Rdu had not had a big win in 2016. Since winning the Truesilver championship back in December he has had mediocre performances at best. Aside from getting second place at the minor Bluestack invitational he has flown mostly under the radar, not even performing in the HCT.

Last night Rdu was able to change that. Finishing the swiss round with a 7-2 score, Rdu was part of the top 16 players to advance to the playoffs. He defeated fellow Belgian player Kobe “Guukboii” Van Schepdael 3-1 in the first round and then proceeded to take out Dane Frederik “Hoej” Nielsen in a close 3-2 serries. In the grand final he was able to secure the win against Fr0zen through excellent use of Zoo lock.

This will add $8000 to the bank of Rdu, multiplying his 2016 winnings by 6 and pushing his total prizemoney won in HS over $100k, making him the 9th players to have done so.
