China suffers first defeat at StarLadder i-League finals, Kolento rules Group A

Barely losing the tiebreaker race, Yuan “Lvxiaobu” Lin is out of the running for the tournament trophy.

Aleksandr “Kolento” Malsh became the undisputed king of the first day of matches in StarLadder i-League. C9’s frontman went 3-0 in series and 9-4 in games last night against Gareth “Cipher” Rouse, David “Dog” Caero and Lvxiaobu to earn a direct semi-finals seed into the playoffs.

Kolento’s perfect streak left Cipher, Dog and Lvxiaobu tied with 1-2 record each, which is where the tie-breaker scores came in handy. At -1, Cipher finished second and he will be playing the third place finished in Group B. Dog and Lvxiaobu ended at another tie at -3, but since Dog won more games overall (6-9 score to Lvxiaobu’s 4-7), he will be moving on in third place.

StarLadder resumes today with Group B at 15:00 CET, featuring Jung Soo “Surrender” Kim, Stanislav Cifka, Justin “JAB” Black and Robin.
