Group A in the Chinese regional qualifiers has decided its leaders. LGD Gaming and IG. Vitality are first to advance to the double elimination playoffs bracket.
LGD have gone through a rough patch after they placed third at The International 5 and the 7-8th place at the Frankfurt Major was not enough to actually grant them a direct invite to Winter Major.
So, they need to fight their way to Shanghai through the regional qualifiers. A first step forward was made today by grabbing the first place in group A followed by the youngsters from IG.Vitality.
The main Invictus Gaming team registered only one win and one draw which translates in three points that were not enough to get a top two spot.
Group B in Chinese regional qualifiers is still in progress with the open qualifiers winners, CDEC Avenger comfortably leading the board with five points already accumulated and one series left to play.
An interesting fact for this group is that CDEC.Youth, currently on the fourth place with two series played can still claim the second advancing position. If both CDEC squads will make it into the double elimination playoffs they might as well qualify for the main event and with that we can see three CDEC teams on the big stage at the Shanghai Major.

13:00 CET - NewBee Young vs CDEC Youth
13:00 CET - CDEC Avenger vs NewBee

The Chinese qualifier group stage finished with two young teams and two veterans advancing into the double elimination, best of three bracket. LGD and IG.Vitality were joined in this afternoon by CDEC. Avenger and Newbee and will continue thier battle for the two qualifier spots into the main event tomorrow, January 9th.
