Gambit Gaming has had an interesting season thus far. Several weeks ago, Gambit Gaming had a 0-4 record at the end of week 2 into the summer split. Now, they have accomplished an astounding 7-8 as they are now tied for fourth place with Unicorns of Love (UoL) and Giants Gaming.
Prior to the summer split, they've acquired the star AD-carry player, Konstantinos "FORG1VEN" Tzortziou. His entrance to the team was not the smoothest. Yet, Gambit Gaming with FORG1VEN have pulled off as a higher tier team in the EU LCS.
With that being said, Gambit Gaming has made an unprecedented statement on July 15, stating that they have added Karim "ImSoFresh" Bbahla, Pierre "Steelback" Medjaldi, and Amaury "Moopz" Minguerche as substitutes. The reason why they have added these three players are not entirely certain as they have stated,
- disrupt the team dynamic
- voluntarily step down from the starting line-up
- be unable to compete in official games due to visa, personal or other issues.”
It obviously raises some eyebrows due to the fact that Steelback, who was a starting AD-carry during the spring split for the sovereign Fnatic, is now back in the LCS as a sub. The man tried to find success in a challenger team, Odyssey Gaming. Unfortunately, the team's probability of success was cut short due to losses. Could Steelback's arrival mean that he could take FORG1VEN's place in the team, perhaps in the next season?
These thoughts are only as good as speculations, but one thing is clear: Gambit Gaming is looking to close the season strong with this team.
