The first ever Hearthstone tag-team tournament will be played tonight at 0:00 CET, featuring some well known players as well as some of the lesser known ones, making up a tournament full of interesting dynamics.
Several days ago Jason “Amaz” Chan announced the Blackrock Team Brawl tournament during his stream. It will be played over three days starting on April 30th - May 2nd. With this Archon will be hosting the first ever tag-team tournament in a best-of-five conquest format through a double elimination bracket for a prizepool of $6,000.
Archon is not quite new to innovative Hearthstone tournaments with already four “Pinnacle” tournaments, played with the “coup” system replacing the blind ban and allowing the players to get rid of one of the opponent’s class after seeing the opening strategy.
The games will be played with the following pattern: One player will actually play the match with the other one spectating and they will have to discuss the moves to run during the tournament which will be a whole new experience not only for the participants but also for the viewers as they will have an insight of how pro players think during a big tournament.
Another interesting thing coming is the eight tag-teams, as three will be a mix from different structures such as Archon Orange/DarkStar Freakeh; Copenhagen Wolves Cupcake/Nihilum Lifecoach and Archon Firebat/Teamless Eversiction, so as we can see some of our top dogs of the moment have paired with lesser known players, which gives the viewer the option to get to known some new faces!
The other five tag-teams will be Cloud 9 Strifecro/Kolento; Tempo Storm Gaara/Reckful; Nihilum Rdu/Thijs; Liquid Sjow/Neirea and Complexity Dog/SuperJJ.
Looking at the lineup and tournament formats, this is one of the more interesting tournaments to watch, so if you're free you should check it out!
