Who are the top ranked Heroes of the Storm teams?

North American tops the first of many weekly spotlights on the current Heroes of the Storm Global rankings.

EDIT: These rankings are updated constantly and this posting was made before several key tournament results were added to our system. These results are in the process of being logged and, when they are, a  follow-up to this post will be made to represent the most up-to-date rankings.

Similar to our feature on the most picked tournament heroes, this week is the first spotlight on our HotS global rankings. Similar to our rankings for other eSports, our HotS GosuRankings are an Elo-based systems with some trade-secret modifications that give us the edge on accuracy and relevancy. We factor in tournament importance based on numerous factors including team strength, prize pools, international or local, whether the event is offline or not. The higher a tournament is ranked, the more it contributes to a teams ranking. In simple terms: winning big tournaments matters most.

It is no simple task and it takes many man hours, but the result is worth it. Our GosuRankings are the most accurate and up-to-date tournament ranking system there is. With that said, here are the current top 3 Heroes of the Storm teams:

# 1 Barrel Boys

In first place is the team hailing from the US, Barrel boys. With the impressive win loss ratio of 24/0/7, they continue to ride a long streak of momentum interrupted briefly by Tempo Storm at the Heroes Premiere League. Although still a very young team in an even younger game they have been dominating the NA scene have recently started to branch into the EU scene in hopes of total word domination.  The team consists currently of Blink, Keonda, Erho, Trummel and Mcintyre

# 2 Cloud9 Maelstrom

In second place we have part of the Blizzcon 2014 Champions, Cloud 9 Maelstrom. Initially off to a bumpy start they have secured their second place status by taking out some big hitters with some key wins and is so far undefeated this month. Though they haven’t branched into the EU scene quite yet, they are set to make some big strides in the NA professional Heroes of the storm scene. Their lineup is k1pro, iDream, KingCaffeine, DunkTrain, and Biceps.

# 3 El NeXo

The boys from Spain, the heavy hitting EU team that has been dominating the east. Lead by eSports veterans and brothers LucifroN and VortiX they have been paving the way with incredible defensive strategies and an un-paralleled knowledge of the developing meta thus far. We recently interviewed their team captain after an undefeated streak in the Enter the Storm Cup #1 qualifiers, and it is well worth the read. The team line up in its entirety is Falcon, GranPkt, Blackscorp, Vortix, and LucifroN
