SK Gaming to sign an amateur team

Alexander "TheSlasH" Müller, managing director of SK Gaming, announced on Twitter that the organization is close to signing a team to compete in the Coke Zero League.

With the Coke Zero League starting alongside the LCS, many big names have been rushing to sign a second squad to compete.  The LCS single team restriction does not extend to the Challenger league, so inhibitions to bringing in sister teams have been lowered.  SK Gaming is joining the fray, according to a recent tweet by Alexander "TheSlasH" Müller, the organization's managing director.

Many have questioned SK Gaming's ability to compete in the European LCS, since they barely managed to avoid relegation in a 3-2 victory against SUPA HOT CREW XD.  With the loss of Patrick "Nyph" Funke, the team's most recent captain, to Alliance, the state of SK Gaming seems more critical than ever.  The addition of a sister team could keep SK Gaming competitive, following the Korean organization business model.

Details on which Challenger team SK Gaming will pick up have yet to be released, but you will likely be able to catch them in Europe's Coke Zero League, beginning on on January 14th with the EU LCS.
