Gabriel "Heromarine" Segat is the ninth champion of EPS Germany. The 16 year old Terran defeated HasuObs and Socke on his way to the €3,000.

After finishing first in his group of Socke, Hanfy and SaltTheWound, Heromarine entered a tough playoff bracket. His first match was against three-times champion HasuObs who had travelled to Cologne to defend his back-to-back trophies. Scoring two in a row in games three and four decided the series into youngster's favor, however, and eliminated the Protoss veteran out of the tournament.

Heromarine's grand final opponent was another Protoss player who's been an EPS staple since 2010, aTn's Socke. A three-times EPS champion and playing his fifth EPS grand final in his career, Socke looked to be the favorite to be the first to four trophies but Heromarine would not let it be so. Coming back from a 1-2 deficit, the youngster scoreboarded a final 3-2 against the veteran to walk out victorious. Heromarine is also the first Terran EPS champion and the one to break Protoss' triple championship streak.
