Cats win CIS HoN Tour for the third time

?
SEA HoN Tour is close to the finish line with only four teams remaining in the playoffs, NA/EU HoN Tour approaches it's playoff stage more and more with eight of ten cycles almost completed - in CIS the regular season ended this Saturday with Cats Gaming completing their championship hattrick.

Cats Gaming has done it again; The dominant flagship team of the CIS region completed the sweep of the Gold Division with their third championship on Saturday. With that the team around Guesswho` has clinched the title in all three cycles, has won all three group stages of those tournaments and has never suffered a loss in the Double Elimination bracket. Utter dominance would be the only way to describe the team, who have come back to their ways with old stars like Guesswho` and FF` returning, while also being active in "free agency" by acquiring Love`N`Stuff from their rivals iTS. That move did not only weaken their most feared rival for the Gold Division crown, but it also gave them yet another very talented and capable player to slain every opponent.

The immediate results of that move were visible in the second cycle, when iTS dropped down to Silver and Cats Gaming only dropped a total of two maps on their way to the gold. This cycle wasn't really much of a different, except that SWAG challenged the Russian-Kazakhstan mix in the Grand Finals for the first time in two cycles. It wasn't the clean and clear wipe of the opposing force, but an intense back-and-forth this time around: ultimately ending in Cats taking an exciting decider in over one hour. Massive stats like a 28/5 Dampeer for FF` or a 20/3 Swiftblade with an Immortal streak for `Tendy. It was a firework of action with the game lasting for 61 minutes and showcasing 79 kills, epic team fights and two carry heroes slugging it out.

The makeup from the match was completely different to the decisive games of Cycle 1 and 2, but the results ultimately were the same. Cats Gaming claims the title, the money and yet another big chunk of ranking points to widen the gap between themselves and the rest of the bunch. In the race to Kiev it really doesn't matter since the team had the first seed secured by reaching the Semifinals of the Upper Bracket already, but now it's completely confirmed. 12,000 points, all possible points and the clear favorite position for the live playoff event in Kiev - with the chance to reach the International HoN Tour Grand FInals in Bangkok, Thailand.

Tagging along Cats are SWAG, QaM and Meka, who secured themselves the second, third and fourth place in the rankings with good results in the final cycle. This list obviously is void of iTS, who paid the prize for their sloppy performance in the second cycle that dropped them down to Silver. The reigning G1-Champion tried to salvage the situation and get enough points to limp onto the offline stage by winning the Silver title, but a fourth place in Gold was enough for Meka to put a 200 point cushion between themselves and iTS.

Those four teams will face off with the two Turkish teams, who will have their debut at the event held in the Kiev eSports Arena - known through the StarLadder Grand Finals. For teams like SWAG and QaM it will be an event almost on home turf, since they have a plethora of Ukranian players, while Cats and Meka have the majority of their team coming from Mother Russia. Sole representatives of an individual country are FF` of Cats Gaming and Everdream of Meka. FF` will be the only  player from Kazakhstan in the event, Everdream is not only going to be the only Bulgarian featured, but also the only European who made it to the event.
