After two days of Ro16 competition, Korea finally sees a representative of its take first place in a group as Genius 4-0'd Group C of Nerchio, ForGG and Showtime.
The currently teamless Protoss made a strong showing last night and reached his first premier tournament playoffs since DreamHack Stockholm in 2012. Genius opened with a 2-0 against Nerchio and then added another flawless win against fellow Korean ForGG for the first place in the group. Him being the only Korean to exit as first from his group, though, Genius is likely to face another in the playoffs since StarDust and MC placed second in their pools.
Second behind Genius came Polish superstart Nerchio. The Acer Zerg recovered after 0:2 to Geniuse and blanked both Showtime and ForGG in the losers and decider match to earn his spot in the playoffs. This is the highest Nerchio has placed in WCS after a Ro16 in season one and spending the season two in challenger league.
Europe's Ro16 ends today with Group D. MMA vs StarBuck and Titan vs Duckdeok are the opening matches.
