Techlabs Cup will be kicking off this weekend and the teams participating in this edition of the tournament are Na`Vi, PowerRangers, Davay Dasvidania (ex-Quantic), and Cascade.1xbet.
Techlabs Cup September will also feature a $15,000 prize pool, a 50% increase from their previous tournament. Apart from winning the increased prize pool, the winner of this edition of Techlabs Cup will also secure themselves a spot in the Techlabs Cup Grand Final in Moscow later this year. Teams that have qualified so far are Team Empire, Na`Vi and Terrible Terrible Damage.
The format of the tournament will also be switched from the traditional Techlabs double elimination bracket to a single elimination best-of-three bracket. The double elimination bracket was used by Techlabs in their March and July edition while the May edition did not need to use any because there are only two participants.
Prior to this announcement, The International 3 runner-up Na`Vi had to make a tough decision on whether they will play Techlabs Cup or risk not qualifying for the playoffs of Starladder. According to Na`Vi's website, Next.kz and Uebelst, the two opponents Na`Vi had to face in Starladder over the weekends used their postpone card so that Na`Vi can participate in Techlabs Cup without a worry. Na`Vi thanked Next.kz and Uebelst for sportsmanship and gracious move.
The English stream of Techlabs Cup September will be brought to you by Toby 'TobiWan' Dawson on joinDOTA Red. Considering that the semi-finals will run on parallel schedule, the second English stream will most likely be streamed by Jorien 'Sheever' van der Heijden.
