Thai HoN Tour Grand Finals kicks off

The HoN Tour Grand Finals of the NA/EU region are already two month behind us, now the big HoN Tour Finals stage gets occupied by the Thai version of the prestigious tournament. A total of 16 teams were involved from the start, now only eight hopefuls remain.

Thailand has by far the biggest player base in Heroes of Newerth today, so the Grand Finals of the Thai HoN scene are highly anticipated and will provide a lot of action. While the NA/EU scene is still in the hangover phase after the giant DreamHack Summer 2013 festivities, the Thai scene is planning the next big event in their home region - with the final matches being streamed in a massive IMAX cinema. After the big stage and crowd at the Garena Star League 2013 event, Thailand continues to set standards for HoN tournaments across the world.

While the IMAX cinema will be something special for the local crowd, the teams are all focused on the prize. Round 1 started two days ago with four matches between the teams that barely snuck into the playoff bracket due to their HoN Tour points. From that initial batch N2H, BOSS, Shooter eSports and CyberZone made it into the next round - playing each other.

That round was played earlier today with N2H edging out Shooter eSports and the Black Knights from CyberZone defeating AVI. Now those teams advanced into Day 3 of the competition, where the opponents get better and better - at least according to their HoN Tour standings at the end of the season. Kimochi.Tt eSports will be the next opponent for N2H, while the surprise team of the last G-League season KooN will square off against the Black Knights. The winners of those matches have their work cut out for them as well. For the winner of KCTT and N2H, the reinging G-League Champs of Turtle Master are waiting, KooN or CyberZone will face KaiD.

Already seeded in the Double Elimination part of the tournament are the two time G-League Champions of Neolution eSports.MRR and the DreamHack Summer 2013 participant of Made in Thailand. Sorry Sorry.

The next matches will start tomorrow at 8 PM local time (2 PM CET/6AM EST). The next round will be played right away after that with TurM and KaiD entering the tournament - after that the Double Elimination Bracket officially starts and those matches will be played next weekend.
