Electronic Sports League (ESL) presented their prize pool for the Intel Extreme Masters World Championship yesterday. The presented money list is $25,000 USD lower than last season, despite including the side game League of Legends as a fourth title.
Previous seasons have had World of WarCraft among the FPS games Counter-Strike 1.6 and Quake Live. This year StarCraft 2 was brought in as the new Extreme Masters title.
Boasting with a $145,000 USD prize for StarCraft 2 alone, the event is the most prize-heavy in StarCraft 2 history to happen as of yet aside from the GOMTV Global StarCraft 2 League events and BlizzCon 2010. The upcoming TeamLiquid Starleague has a slightly higher prize pool, set to $34,500.
